ONE.ORG | Ich schaue hin!
Integrated PR Campaign - Print, Film, Online | TBWA Berlin | Creative Director
We were asked by the ONE organisation to help in their fight to end extreme poverty. Germany made a promise to donate to the poorest of the poor and this promise was in danger of being broken. We created a PR campaign in the form of an iconic art installation/demonstration, placing hundreds of eyes belonging to celebrities, activists and the concerned general public, outside the Reichstag, Germany’s parliament house, with the help of one of the world’s biggest artists, Ólafur Eliasson. Our simple message to the parliamentarians was to look these people in the eyes and say: A promise is a promise and we will deliver the aid agreed upon, and to inform them that all eyes were on them, leading to the then upcoming elections. By creating an art installation out of our message, we were able to realise the event in front of the Reichstag, Germany’s parliament, one of the first times ever that an art protest was able to take place there. Joining the artist at the protest and/or at various PR events surrounding the campaign Melinda Gates, U2's Bono, various party leaders, and the Bundestag President, Norbert Lammert. In difficult times, through this campaign and its message: "Ich schaue hin!", we ensured that donations to people living in conditions not good enough for human beings were kept up... something worth fighting for.
